Betsy Fogle is a Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 135 . She flipped the seat from Republican incumbent Steve Helms in a narrow 2020 election victory , marking the only House seat change between parties that cycle, and was sworn in January 2021. Notable achievements include her public health leadership at Jordan Valley Community Health Center, where she advanced Medicaid expansion and COVID-19 responses, and her 2025 announcement to run for Missouri Senate District 30.
Betsy Fogle is a lifelong Springfield, Missouri resident born in the city. A proud Springfieldian, she has dedicated her career to public health, working at Jordan Valley Community Health Center—initially connecting patients to services, then in administration overseeing over 50 employees. She was urged by House Minority Leader Crystal Quade to run for office and has focused on building healthy communities, addressing care access barriers, and issues like Medicaid expansion.
