Beth Richards

Beth Richards is a Democratic representative in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, serving the Merrimack 17 district. She was elected on November 8, 2016, and assumed office later that year. Richards is based in Concord, New Hampshire, and is married with two children.

Education

Richards earned a BA in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. She also attended Indiana University Bloomington.

Political Experience

Richards brings diverse professional experience to her legislative role. Prior to her election, she worked as a nonprofit director focused on communications, with active involvement in public health and the arts. Since 2016, she has served as the owner of Local Baskit and principal of Organized Communications.

In the legislature, Richards serves as a member of the Legislative Administration Committee. Her legislative record reflects positions on various contemporary issues. On marijuana policy, she has stated support for decriminalization while opposing full legalization. She has voted against voter identification requirements and school choice expansion measures during recent legislative sessions.
