Biography of Representative Ben Harrison

Ben Harrison is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing Alabama's 2nd House District, which includes parts of Lauderdale and Limestone Counties. He has served in this position since November 9, 2022, following his unopposed election on November 8, 2022.

Political Career

Harrison has established himself as a prominent conservative voice in Alabama politics. He has consistently ranked as the most conservative member of the Alabama House and has earned top marks from several conservative organizations, including the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Freedom Index, Club for Growth Foundation, and the American Conservative Union.

Prior to his election to the state House, Harrison served as a Republican on the County Commission from 2012 to 2020, where he advocated for fiscal responsibility. He was selected as a Donald Trump delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2020 and later served as an alternate delegate for Trump in 2024.

Education and Background

Harrison earned his engineering degree from Auburn University. A lifelong resident of Alabama, he is married to Beth McGuire Harrison and together they have four children and five grandchildren.
