Representative Ben Bowman

Ben Bowman is a Democratic state representative for Oregon House District 25, which includes Tigard, Metzger, parts of Durham, and south Beaverton. A seventh-generation Oregonian and the youngest LGBTQ+ member of the Oregon Legislature, he was elected in 2022 and serves as House Majority Leader , co-chair of the Oregon Future Caucus, and holds roles in leadership programs like New DEAL Leaders and CSG-West Western Legislative Academy.

Ben Bowman grew up in the Tigard-Tualatin School District , attending from kindergarten through graduation as the middle child of three boys. He founded a small business media company and hosted a podcast on Oregon politics. Bowman secured millions in funding, including $3 million for safety improvements on Hall Boulevard, and championed initiatives like stopping public drug use, violence prevention, housing investments, healthcare cost reductions, and environmental protection. Notable achievements include being chief sponsor and architect of Oregon’s Early Literacy Success Initiative , launching the statewide Dolly Parton Imagination Library for free monthly books to children birth to age 5, strengthening cybersecurity, improving transportation infrastructure, and addressing healthcare workforce shortages. He defends reproductive freedom, voting rights, LGBTQ+ equality, and climate action, while serving on health and education committees.
