Biography
Ben Bakeberg is a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 54B in Scott County, south of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, including the city of Prior Lake. Born on July 15, 1978, in Cokato, Minnesota, he was elected in 2022 following redistricting and the retirement of incumbent Tony Albright. He currently serves his second term as Assistant Republican Leader and holds committee roles including Co-Vice Chair of Education Finance, Education Policy, and Workforce, Labor, and Economic Development Finance and Policy. Notable achievements include authoring the “Keep it Clean” Bill to protect Minnesota lakes and his campaign focus on strong families, communities, and schools. He is married to Lindy since 2001, has three children, and attends River Valley Church in Shakopee.

- B.S. in Elementary Education and Bible, University of Northwestern-St. Paul.
- M.S. in Educational Leadership, Minnesota State University, Mankato.
- K-12 Principal Licensure, Saint Mary’s University.
Political Experience:
- Elected to Minnesota House in 2022 ; reelected for second term.
- Prior career as educator and school administrator: experience as custodian, paraprofessional, teacher, coach, assistant principal, and building principal in public and private schools; only current school administrator in state government.
- Volunteer with Jordan Faith Clubs and River Valley Church.
- Announced intention to run for Senate District 54 in 2026.
