Biography
Becky Edwards is a Democratic member of the Montana House of Representatives representing District 61 , assuming office on January 8, 2025, after winning election in 2024. A 28-year resident of Bozeman, she was born and raised on a corn, soybean, and beef farm in eastern Iowa, and is a working mother of three daughters, small-business owner , and former mountaineering guide who traveled the world climbing and skiing. Notable achievements include authoring and passing HB932, a conservation financing bill directing $37 million from recreational cannabis revenue biennially to parks, trails, working lands, and wildlife habitat; she prioritizes public lands, healthcare access, affordability, tax reduction, and public school support. Edwards also advocates for women's voices in conservation as executive director of Mountain Mamas, influencing federal and state legislation for over 15 years on issues like clean air, public lands access, clean water, and the Great American Outdoors Act.
