Biography
Beau Beaullieu
Gerald "Beau" Beaullieu IV is a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 48, which covers parts of Iberia, Lafayette, and St. Martin Parishes.
Beaullieu is a conservative small businessman and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish. He is described as an advocate for smaller government and less regulation, with a focus on addressing budget problems without burdening working families. Outside of his legislative role, Beaullieu has owned and operated CoSource Financial Group since 2001, a financial services firm that works with businesses throughout Louisiana and Texas to manage 401 retirement plans. His firm has received national recognition for its leadership in the retirement plan industry.
In his personal life, Beaullieu serves as a husband, father, coach, and mentor. He is an active member of several community organizations, including the Iberia Parish Republican Executive Committee, the New Iberia Kiwanis Club , and various business associations including the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association and Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.
Education
Beaullieu earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Louisiana State University in 1997 and an MBA in finance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2001. He holds certifications as a Certified 401 Professional and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary.
Political Experience
Beaullieu was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in November 2019 and assumed office on January 13, 2020. He was re-elected in October 2023, receiving 85% of the vote. His current committee assignments include Chair of the House and Governmental Affairs Committee and interim member of the Ways and Means Committee. He also serves as Chair of the Acadiana Delegation and is a Speaker-appointed member of the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay.
Legislatively, Beaullieu maintains a pro-life voting record and supports Second Amendment rights. He has championed bills related to family support initiatives and has taken positions on energy and environmental matters affecting his district.
