Barbara Rachelson is a Democratic representative for Chittenden-14 in the Vermont House of Representatives, currently serving her sixth term since 2013. Born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and raised in North Caldwell, she resides in Burlington, Vermont, with her husband Don Loeb and their two children, Isaac and Aviva. With over 40 years in nonprofits, including 33 as an executive director, she has led organizations like the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont, Lund, Michigan Network of Runaway, Homeless and Youth Services, and Spectrum Youth Services. Notable achievements include her roles as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Judiciary's Judicial Rules Committee and member of the Judicial Nominating Board; prior board service with the ACLU of Vermont, Fletcher Allen Health Care, and Vermont Children's Forum; and fellowships as a 2016 CSG National Toll Fellow and 2014 CSG Eastern Region Thompson Fellow. She currently teaches a class at the University of Vermont on Nonprofits and Social Change and consults for nonprofits and businesses.

• Political Experience: Legislative aide for the Michigan House of Representatives Judiciary Committee; LBJ intern for Congressman Joseph Minish ; intern for the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency. Appointed to the Vermont Committee for Child, Adolescent, and Family Mental Health and Ann Arbor Human Rights Commission; commissioner for the Burlington Parallel Justice Commission; federal peer and grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Elected to Vermont House: 2013–present.
