Barbara Ehardt (33A)

Barbara Dee Ehardt is a Republican politician representing District 33A in the Idaho House of Representatives since 2017. Born on February 29, 1964, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, she is a former college basketball coach known for sponsoring legislation on sex education restrictions and requiring transgender athletes to compete based on their birth-assigned gender, which drew national attention and criticism.

• Education: AS in General Studies from North Idaho College ; BS in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Idaho State University .
• Coaching Career: High school and college basketball coach , including head coach for women's basketball at Cal State Fullerton ; assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara, BYU, Washington State University; created community outreach programs using sports to teach life lessons.
