Biography
Barbara Dittrich
Barbara Dittrich is a Republican politician from Waukesha County, Wisconsin, born on May 21, 1964. She is a lifelong resident of Southeastern Wisconsin, currently living in the City of Oconomowoc, where she resides with her spouse and three adult children.
Dittrich has built a diverse professional background as a former investment professional, small business owner, and faith-based nonprofit founder and executive director. Her personal experiences with disabilities, chronic illnesses, patient and student advocacy, and substance abuse issues have shaped her legislative priorities. She is passionate about addressing mental health care, substance abuse, healthcare policy, tax policy, protecting life, and supporting strong families.
Education
Dittrich completed her high school education at Hamilton High School in Sussex, Wisconsin. She then attended Waukesha County Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Political Experience
Dittrich was first elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2018. She currently serves as the State Representative for Wisconsin's 99th Assembly District, a position she has held since 2025. Previously, she represented the 38th Assembly District from 2019 to 2025.
Within the legislature, she holds several leadership positions: she serves as the current Chair of the Assembly Committee on Insurance and as Vice-Chair of both the Assembly Committee on Education and the Assembly Committee on Mental Health & Substance Abuse. In 2019, she chaired the Speaker's Task Force on Adoption and received the NFWL Woman of Excellence award.
