Biography

Ashley Brooke Moody, born on March 28, 1975, in Plant City, Florida, is a fifth-generation Floridian with deep roots in the state. She began her legal career at the law firm Holland & Knight, focusing on commercial litigation, and later served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Florida, prosecuting drug, firearm, and fraud offenses. In 2006, at age 31, she became the youngest judge in Florida history when elected to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court in Hillsborough County. Moody was elected as Florida's Attorney General in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. In January 2025, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed her to the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Marco Rubio, making her Florida's second female senator.
