Biography

Arvind Venkat, a Democrat, represents Pennsylvania's 30th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, covering the North Hills suburbs of Pittsburgh including McCandless, Franklin Park, Ohio Township, Emsworth, Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, Kilbuck, and parts of Hampton Township in Allegheny County. Born June 6, 1974, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, he is an emergency physician and the first Indian American elected to the state House and the first physician in the General Assembly in nearly 60 years.
