Arthur Lyle Washut was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating with a degree in business administration in 1974. Washut was a captain in the U.S. Air Force. He achieved the rank of major before he retired. Later, Washut founded and became president of Washut Financial Services. He served on the board of directors of the Hillcrest Health Services System.read less
