Biography
Arnold "Arnie" Jensen is the state representative for Connecticut's 131st Assembly District, which includes the town of Oxford and parts of Naugatuck and Southbury. He assumed office on January 8, 2025, after winning the general election on November 5, 2024. A fiscal conservative, Jensen advocates for middle-class tax relief, supports law enforcement, and has a record of keeping taxes low at the municipal level. House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora appointed him to the Energy and Technology, Environment, General Law, and Housing committees for the 2025-2027 session. He resides in Oxford with his wife Paula, where they have lived for over 23 years, and is the father of two adult children who graduated from the local school system.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Stony Brook University and a certificate in computer programming from NYU.
- Professional Background: Retired engineer at Unilever, a multinational consumer goods company.
- Political Experience:
- Elected Oxford Selectman since 2019.
- Former Chair of the Oxford Planning and Zoning Commission and Republican Town Committee.
- Served on the Oxford Roads Commission.
