Delegate April Miller

April Fleming Miller is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 4 in Frederick County, serving since January 2023. She is an optometrist with prior experience on local education boards and currently holds positions on key committees and workgroups.

Born October 5, 1970, in Washington, D.C., April Fleming Miller is a lifelong resident of Frederick County, Maryland. She works as an optometrist at her practice, Drs. Nathan and Miller in Frederick. Married with three children, Miller entered politics through local education service. She served as an at-large member of the Frederick County Board of Education from 2010 to 2018, including as vice president in 2017, but lost re-election in 2018 after two terms. In 2020, Governor Larry Hogan appointed her to the Frederick Community College Board of Trustees for a five-year term . Elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in November 2022 , she was sworn in on January 11, 2023.

Notable achievements and positions include membership on the House Ways and Means Committee , chair of the Frederick County School Construction Master Plan Workgroup , and member of Women Legislators of Maryland . In the 2026 session, she introduced legislation for strict environmental, noise restrictions on data centers, and limits on approving them on agricultural lands.
