Biography

Anthony Moore is a Republican representative for Oklahoma House District 57, which includes Custer, Roger Mills, and Beckham counties such as Clinton, Weatherford, and Cheyenne. A fifth-generation Custer County native, he was first elected in 2020 and assumed office on November 18, 2020. In 2024, he was elected Speaker Pro Tempore, the second-highest leadership role in the Oklahoma House, and serves as an ex officio voting member on all House committees, including vice chair of the House Energy & Natural Resources Committee and the Select Committee to Review Mental Health Finances.

Education and Political Experience

Moore graduated from Clinton High School, where he won a state golf championship. He earned a summa cum laude degree in Governmental and Legal Studies with a Bible minor from Oklahoma Christian University, including time in the American Studies Program in Washington, D.C. In 2007, he received his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Prior to politics, Moore worked as an assistant district attorney in Custer, Latimer, and Washita counties and practiced law focusing on oil and gas and property law, earning Super Lawyers Rising Star recognition for five years. In the House, he has championed conservative priorities like protecting life and Second Amendment rights, reducing taxes and regulations, defending property and parental rights, safeguarding girls' sports, preserving water resources, and advancing education reforms such as teacher pay increases and bills limiting screen time , standardizing assessments , and expanding maternity/adoption leave .
