Anthony Loubet (0027)

Anthony E. Loubet is a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 27 in Salt Lake County, which includes parts of Magna, Kearns, West Valley City, West Jordan, and Copperton. Elected in November 2022, he assumed office on January 1, 2023, and has filed for re-election. He is recognized as an effective bipartisan lawmaker who has sponsored legislation expanding child sexual abuse reporting, improving healthcare access, reforming workers’ compensation, enhancing governmental accounting, strengthening adult protective services, and advancing rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities. A notable achievement includes amending Utah’s Constitution to require 60-day publication and advertisement of proposed amendments prior to elections, improving voter transparency and access while reducing costs.

Education and Political Experience

Loubet holds a bachelor's degree and earned his Juris Doctor. His professional background includes working as an advisor associate at Waddell & Reed, operating an independent tax consulting service from 2009 to 2013, serving as a law clerk for Utah Appeals Court Judge Kate A. Toomey in 2018, acting as deputy county attorney in the Utah County Attorney's Office from 2018 to 2021, and serving as senior policy advisor for Salt Lake County Councilman David Alvord in 2021 and 2022. He currently works as general counsel for the Abby Lou Foundation and Residential Habilitation Experts.
