Biography

Anthony DeSimone is a Democratic representative for District 5 in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. A lifelong Providence resident, he succeeded his father, John DeSimone, a former Majority Leader in the same chamber. He currently serves as Deputy Majority Leader and is the Senior Compliance Officer in the Providence Economic Development Office.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduate of St. Raphael's Academy in Pawtucket; attended Rhode Island College.
  • Political Experience: Elected in November 2022; re-elected through at least 2026. Serves on the House Corporations Committee, House Municipal Government and Housing Committee, and House Special Legislation Committee.
