Biography
Anthony P. D'Esposito is a Republican who represented New York's 4th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2023 to 2025. Born on February 22, 1982, in Island Park, Nassau County, New York, he grew up on Long Island and served as a retired New York City Police Department detective before entering politics. His 2022 midterm election victory over Democrat Laura Gillen was a major upset that helped secure the narrow Republican House majority, though he lost to Gillen in the 2024 election. Notable achievements include being the first sitting Republican to call for Rep. George Santos' resignation in 2023, introducing a resolution to expel Santos, supporting Kevin McCarthy for Speaker, signing a bipartisan letter respecting 2024 election results, and appointment to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum board in 2023.
