Biography
Senator Anthony Broadman represents District 27 in the Oregon State Senate, covering Bend and Central Oregon.
Anthony Broadman serves as an attorney for Tribal governments and small businesses, and as Chief Judge of the Warm Springs Court of Appeals. He is passionate about economic opportunities, affordable housing, public safety, wildfire resiliency, supporting working families, and safeguarding civil rights. Broadman lives in Bend with his wife, Dr. Kate Broadman, and their three daughters, who attend Bend public schools; he is an avid cyclist, skier, and hunter. He holds leadership roles including the Deschutes County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council, EDCO Board, Horner Cycling Foundation Board President, Downtown Bend Business Association ex officio member, and Deschutes Collaborative Forest Steering Committee.
Education and Political Experience
Broadman graduated from law school before moving to Bend to raise a family and build a small business. Politically, he has served as Bend City Councilor since 2020, including as Mayor Pro Tem in 2022, and previously chaired the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council and Oregon State Bar Indian Law Section. Elected to the Oregon State Senate for District 27 as a Democrat, he focuses on public safety, affordable housing, and community priorities.
