Biography

Annie Menz is a Democratic member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 45 . Elected in November 2022, she made history as the first Latina elected to the Oklahoma Legislature. Born in Oklahoma City to an Army veteran father and immigrant mother, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17. She previously worked as a nonpartisan Executive Assistant for the Oklahoma State Senate and Legislative Assistant in the House, while also serving as a stay-at-home mom, college student, political consultant, and nonprofit worker. Menz is a member of the American Legion and Oklahoma Women Veterans Organization, founder of the annual Hispanic Cultural Day at the State Capitol, and a founding member of the Oklahoma Legislative Latino Caucus. Her platform emphasizes protecting natural resources, investing in public education, expanding mental health access, and supporting working families. Notable awards include the 2017 NextGen Under-30 award and Veteran of the Year by the Oklahoma Democratic Committee.
