About
Annie E. McDaniel is a Democratic representative for South Carolina House District 41 , serving since 2018. She is the first African American woman and first African American since Reconstruction to represent this district, and in her first year, she became the first member to pass a bill. Born May 28 in Winnsboro, she is a retired accounting, tax, and public administration consultant, and daughter of Mary Kennedy McDaniel and the late Eddie McDaniel. Notable positions include Chair of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus, 1st Vice Chair of the House Operations and Management Committee, and member of the Agricultural, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee. She holds strong pro-conservation voting records, scoring 103% in 2023-2024.
