Biography

Annessa Hartman is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives representing District 40, which includes Gladstone, Oregon City, and unincorporated Clackamas County. She was elected in November 2022 and assumed office on January 9, 2023. Hartman is a member of the Haudenosaunee, Cayuga Nation, Snipe Clan, and is the third Indigenous person elected to the Oregon House of Representatives. A mother and community advocate, her legislative priorities focus on supporting working families, human services, and infrastructure, informed by her experience as the child of a single working mother. She has been a vocal advocate for expanding rights for victims of child sexual abuse.
