Biography
Anne B. Donahue is a longtime Vermont legislator representing Washington-1 district. She serves as Ranking Member of the House Committee on Human Services, and is a member of the House Rules Committee, Green Mountain Care Board Nominating Committee, and State Housing and Residential Services Planning Committee. Born in Burlington, Vermont, she has resided in Northfield, Washington County, since 1990. Previously a Republican, recent records list her as Independent. She retired in 2023 after 25 years as Editor of Counterpoint for Vermont Psychiatric Survivors in Rutland. An inactive member of the bar in Vermont, Washington, DC, and New Jersey, she is a past president of Northfield Rotary and a member of St. John the Evangelist parish. Notable achievements include awards such as the Uncommon Courage Award , Legislative Standout , Lifetime Achievement Award , and Advocacy Awards from the Vermont Children's Forum and Vermont Coalition for Disability Rights. She has advocated for mental health parity, equity in health care access, and protection of rights, serving on committees like the Joint Mental Health Oversight Committee and Green Mountain Care Board Advisory Committee .

Political Experience: Elected to the Vermont House of Representatives for Washington-1 since 2002 . Prior experience includes lobbying for mental health parity, teaching in junior high school, and working with homeless youth in New York City and Los Angeles.
