Biography
Anne B. Charnock is a Republican state senator representing District 17 in the West Virginia Senate. A lifelong West Virginian born in Charleston, she is an attorney, former Charleston Municipal Court judge of over 12 years, and was appointed to the Senate by Governor Patrick Morrisey to replace Eric Nelson. She focuses on strengthening the economy, improving education, and providing conservative leadership.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: George Washington High School; BA and JD from West Virginia University.
- Political Experience: Chief Deputy Kanawha County Clerk; Municipal Judge of Charleston; hearing examiner for state and local agencies; child advocate attorney; assistant counsel for the WV Republican Party; owner of Charnock & Charnock law firm; member of the Republican National Lawyers Association. In 2026, she was the lead sponsor of 7 bills in the Senate.
