Anna Wishart (0027)

Anna Wishart is a Democratic politician who represented Nebraska's 27th Legislative District in the Nebraska Unicameral from January 2017 to January 2025. Born on January 2, 1985, in Lincoln, Nebraska, she is currently the Senior Director of Public Affairs at Monolith, a Nebraska-based clean technology company pioneering methane pyrolysis at commercial scale. Wishart previously served as Director of Partnerships at Beyond School Bells, Nebraska's afterschool and summer learning network, and on the Lincoln Airport Authority Board, where she chaired for five years. Notable achievements include her role as Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee, helping balance the state's budget, and leading efforts for a medical marijuana legalization ballot initiative in 2018 alongside Senator Adam Morfeld. She also served on the Tribal-Relations Committee and remains active on the Downtown Lincoln Association.
