Biography

Anna C. Moeller is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 43rd District since her swearing-in on March 31, 2014. She serves communities including Elgin, Carpentersville, East Dundee, Hoffman Estates, Streamwood, Barrington Hills, and South Elgin. A full-time legislator and community advocate, she chairs the Health and Human Services Appropriations Committee, leads the Medicaid Working Group, co-chairs the House Progressive Caucus and House Green Caucus, and serves on the bipartisan Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability . Notable achievements include championing pay equity, insurance and pension reform, environmental protection, healthcare access, and LGBTQ+ equality; she has also passed measures for affordable public transit, protections against discrimination based on health decisions, and better health coverage. Recognized as an Edgar Fellow , Bowhay Legislative Leadership Fellow , and Toll Fellow , she previously served on the Elgin City Council and as Executive Director of the McHenry County Council of Governments.
