Biography
Anna Paulina Luna is a Republican representing Florida's 13th Congressional District, which covers most of Pinellas County. Born in 1989 in California to a single mother, she is the first Mexican-American woman elected to represent Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is an outspoken critic of abortion, a strong supporter of gun rights, and focuses on combating the "Washington swamp" and elitist political establishment.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated high school in Los Angeles, served in the U.S. Air Force where she began college studies, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of West Florida in 2017.
- Military Service: Joined the Air Force as a young adult; met her husband, Andy Gamberzky , during this time. They live in St. Petersburg with their son.
- Political Career: Ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2020 against Charlie Crist; won in 2022 against Democrat Eric Lynn . Currently serving her second term since 2023.
- Notable Positions: Serves on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee , Foreign Affairs Committee, and Natural Resources Committee. Chairwoman of the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets. Appointed to the Congressional House Democracy Partnership.
