Biography

Anna Abeytia is a Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 24. Born and raised in Maryvale, Arizona, she spent her teenage years between Glendale and Phoenix, and is a product of the Cartwright School District, attending Spitalny Elementary and Atkinson Middle schools. Her grandparents were civil rights activists who inspired her political engagement. A progressive Democrat, she succeeded Analise Ortiz in the House after winning the general election on November 5, 2024, and assuming office on January 13, 2025; her current term ends January 11, 2027. Notable achievements include serving as the youngest member and former president of the Cartwright Elementary School District Governing Board, and endorsements from groups like Reproductive Freedom For All and the Human Rights Campaign. She has sponsored bills such as HB2213 and HB2214 .

Education and Political Experience
