Biography
Ann Wagner is a Republican representing Missouri's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013. Born on September 13, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, she resides in Ballwin with her husband Ray and their three children: Raymond, Stephen, and Mary Ruth. Wagner is Catholic and has emphasized conservative Christian family values in her service. Notable achievements include serving as the first woman to chair the Missouri Republican Party , co-chair of the Republican National Committee , and U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg under President George W. Bush. In Congress, she holds key positions such as Chair of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets; member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence; and Senior Deputy Whip. Education
Wagner earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in logistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984. Post-graduation, she worked in management at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City and Ralston Purina in St. Louis.
Political Experience
Wagner's career began at the grassroots level as a local committeewoman in Lafayette Township for nine years. She chaired the Missouri Republican Party , achieving historic Republican gains, and co-chaired the Republican National Committee . Appointed U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg , she was confirmed by the Senate and sworn in by Secretary Condoleezza Rice. Elected to Congress in 2012 with over 60% of the vote—more than any other Republican congressional candidate in Missouri that cycle—she serves on the House Financial Services Committee and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Current roles include Chair of the Open-Source Intelligence Subcommittee and Senior Deputy Whip.
