Biography
Representative Angie Guerrero-Cuellar

District: Illinois House District 22
Angie Guerrero-Cuellar is a full-time state legislator and the first woman and Latina woman to represent the 22nd district. She is the daughter of immigrant parents from Puebla, Mexico, and was raised in the Little Village and Chicago/West Lawn neighborhoods for over 30 years. She is a mother of two daughters and is married to a Chicago police officer.
Before her legislative career, she served as a Community Outreach Organizer assisting in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic on the Southwest Side of Chicago. She was also a former Auxiliary Board Member for the National Museum of Mexican Art.
Education
Guerrero-Cuellar is a proud graduate of Hubbard High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Roosevelt University.
Political Experience
Guerrero-Cuellar was appointed by the Democratic Party to the Illinois House of Representatives on February 25, 2021, replacing Edward Guerra Kodatt. She serves on several legislative committees, including:

- Mental Health & Addiction Committee

- Transportation: Regulation, Roads & Bridges Committee
- Transportation: Vehicles & Safety Committee
She has advanced legislation expanding access to mental health professionals for first responders and veterans, including passing legislation that eliminates non-compete agreements for mental health professionals serving these populations.
