Biography
Angela Rigas is a Republican representing Michigan's 79th House District, which includes parts of Allegan, Barry, and Kent counties, such as the townships of Byron , Caledonia, Gaines, Irving, Leighton, Rutland, and Thornapple. Born on October 27, 1974, in Hastings, Michigan, she is a lifelong Michigan resident living in the Alto area of Kent County with her husband, David Rigas, and their four sons , along with pets. A small-business owner in the salon industry and grassroots activist, Rigas advocates for Second Amendment rights, parental rights, voting rights, constitutional defense, pro-life positions, healthcare choice, universal school choice, and accountability for elected officials. She is an American history enthusiast who travels with her family to historical sites from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and beyond. Notable committee roles include the Oversight Committee, chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on Weaponization of State Government, vice chair of the Oversight Subcommittee on Child Welfare System, Regulatory Reform Committee, and Select Committee on Protecting Michigan Employees and Small Businesses. She previously served on the executive committees of Allegan, Kent, and Barry counties.
