Angela V. McKnight is a Democratic politician representing New Jersey's 31st Legislative District, which includes parts of Jersey City, all of Bayonne, and Kearny. She was elected to the New Jersey State Senate in November 2023, taking office on January 9, 2024, after serving four terms in the General Assembly from 2016 to 2024 as the first African American Assemblywoman for the district. Notable achievements include her roles as Deputy Majority Leader , chairwoman of the Assembly Aging and Senior Services Committee, and current service on Senate committees such as Education, Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens, Law and Public Safety, and the Joint Committee on the Public Schools.
