Biography

Andy Thompson was a Republican politician from Marietta, Ohio, who represented the 95th District in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2011 to 2018, serving four terms. He previously served three terms on the Marietta City Council. A strong advocate for free-market principles and deregulation, he worked with the Competitive Enterprise Institute, including as its first fundraising director in the late 1980s and again as a consultant after 2018. Thompson passed away suddenly at age 57 in May 2020 from a heart attack.
