Biography
Andy Hopper is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, serving District 64 since 2025, which includes all of Wise County and part of Denton County. Born on February 18, 1977, in Kansas City, Missouri, he resides in Decatur with his wife Amanda and three sons. A software engineer and chief warrant officer in the Texas State Guard, Hopper campaigned on border security and lowering property taxes. Notable achievements include defeating incumbent Lynn Stucky in the 2024 Republican primary runoff and Democrat Angela Brewer in the general election. As a freshman in the 89th session, he serves on the Agriculture & Livestock and Insurance committees, and filed bills like HB 1982 and HB 2657 .
