Biography
Andrew Macurdy is a Democratic politician representing New Jersey's 21st Legislative District in the General Assembly since January 2026. A resident of Summit, New Jersey, he flipped the district in the 2025 election alongside running mate Vincent Kearney, defeating Republican incumbents. Born and raised in New Jersey, he comes from a family with military service; both grandfathers served in World War II, and his father was a U.S. Air Force pilot. He lives with his wife Ellen and their two young children. Notable achievements include creating the Arrive Together co-response program as counsel to the New Jersey Attorney General, pairing police with mental health workers for crisis calls, now adopted statewide. He serves on committees for Transportation & Independent Authorities and Science.
