Kuzma is a native of western Pennsylvania and a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and obtained his law degree from Duquesne University.
Political Experience
Kuzma practiced law in southwestern Pennsylvania before entering electoral politics, focusing his practice on real estate and elder law. He served for six years on the Elizabeth Township Board of Commissioners in Allegheny County, beginning his tenure in 2016 and serving as president of the board from 2019 to 2020. During his tenure on the board, he created a K-9 unit, improved recreational facilities, demolished abandoned properties, and fixed infrastructure while maintaining a no-tax-increase record. He resigned from the board in 2021 after moving out of the ward he represented.
In 2022, Kuzma sought election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, challenging incumbent Republican Mike Puskaric in the primary election with a platform that included school choice, election reform, and opposition to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. He won the primary with 58% of the vote and subsequently defeated Democrat Rick Self in the general election.
Currently, Kuzma serves on four House committees: Game and Fisheries, Judiciary, Local Government, and Professional Licensure.
