Representative Andi Story

Andi Story is a Democratic representative for District 3 in the Alaska House of Representatives. She has lived in Juneau for over 30 years, where she raised her three children—Ellen, Mallory, and Ryan—with her husband Mike, who ran a small engineering firm. Born in Olivia, Minnesota, Story has been a long-time advocate for education and equity in Alaska communities.

Education

Story holds a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Moorhead State University . Before entering elected office, she worked as a family counselor and educator with Catholic Community Services and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

Political Experience

Story's public service began with her election to the Juneau Board of Education, where she served for 15 years . She co-founded Great Alaska Schools, a nonpartisan education advocacy organization, and served as president of the Alaska Association of School Boards.

Story was elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 2018 and has served since then. She currently serves as Co-chair of the House Education Committee and is a member of the House Transportation, State Affairs, and Labor & Commerce Committees. Her legislative priorities have focused on addressing the impacts of budget cuts and the need for stronger fiscal planning to support Alaskan families.
