Amy Sinclair is a Republican state senator representing District 12 in the Iowa State Senate, which includes all of Adair, Clarke, Decatur, Madison, Lucas, and Wayne counties, plus portions of Appanoose, Dallas, and Union counties. Elected in 2012, she has served continuously, initially in District 14 until 2023, and currently holds the position of Senate President since 2023, along with roles such as Vice Chair of the Rules and Administration Committee and member of the Education Committee. Notable achievements include serving as Acting Lieutenant Governor in 2024, Majority Whip , Assistant Majority Leader , and receiving recognitions from organizations like the Hoover Presidential Foundation, Iowa Health Care Association, and American Legislative Exchange Council.
