Biography
Amy J. Roeder is a Democratic state representative for House District 23 in Maine, representing part of Bangor. She was elected in November 2020 and assumed office on December 2, 2020, currently serving her third term in the 132nd Legislature . A longtime advocate for workers' rights, she chairs the Labor Committee, focusing on fair wages, safe working conditions, unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, and labor relations. Roeder has worked in the arts her entire adult life as an artist, actress, administrator, and adjunct theater professor at the University of Maine. She also serves as executive director of Together Place Peer Run Recovery Center, a freelance business trainer on communication and organizational change, and board member of the Maine Association of Recovery Residences. An adoptive mother of two sons, she resides in Bangor’s Little City neighborhood.
