Biography

Amy B. Arata is a Republican state representative serving House District 104 in Maine, which includes New Gloucester, Gray , and part of Poland. She assumed office on December 5, 2018, and is currently in her fourth consecutive term as of 2025. Notable positions include Assistant Republican Leader , member of the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee, Joint Standing Committee on Government Oversight, and previously the Joint Standing Committee on Taxation. She owns a property investment business and a mechanical engineering business with her husband Michael, with whom she has three sons; they moved to New Gloucester in 2006. Arata sponsored a 2019 bill revising state law on disseminating obscene materials to minors, inspired by a school assignment.
