Senator Amber Hulse is a Republican representing District 30 in the South Dakota State Senate. She is recognized as one of the youngest state senators in South Dakota's history and the youngest Republican female state senator in the state. Raised on a hunting ranch south of Hot Springs, South Dakota, by her father, a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran, Hulse embodies values of hard work, service, and patriotism. Notable achievements include serving as the longest-reigning Miss South Dakota in the Miss America Organization , winning Miss South Dakota USA 2023—making her one of only four women to earn both titles—and interning in high-profile roles such as the Trump White House, Congresswoman Kristi Noem, Senators John Thune and Cynthia Lummis, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, and South Dakota Secretary of State Shantel Krebs.
