Biography
Amanda Mays Bledsoe is a Republican state senator representing Kentucky's 12th Senate District, which includes Boyle, Mercer, and Woodford Counties and part of Fayette County. Elected to the Senate in 2023, she previously served eight years on the Lexington City Council from 2014 to 2022. Notable achievements include recognition as one of The Kentucky Gazette's 2024 Notable Women in Politics and Government for her leadership in public service, fiscal management, and technology policy. She serves as vice chair of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee and the Senate Families and Children Committee, co-chairs the Artificial Intelligence Task Force, Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight Committee, and Commission on Race and Access to Opportunity, and is an ex officio member of several Budget Review Subcommittees.
