About

Amaad Rivera-Wagner is a Democratic state representative for Wisconsin's 90th Assembly District, covering parts of Green Bay in Brown County. Born in December 1981, he is a community organizer from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and serves as the first openly gay man of color in the Wisconsin State Legislature. He was elected in 2024, defeating Republican Jessica Henderson with 52.53% of the vote, and sworn in during 2025. Previously, he served as chief of staff to Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich since 2021, managing his 2023 re-election campaign, and co-chairs the Greater Green Bay Chamber’s Diversity Task Force. He lives in Green Bay’s Astor neighborhood with his husband, William Wagner, and their two goldendoodles.

Notable achievements include championing an anti-foreclosure ordinance as Springfield, Massachusetts City Councilor , stopping a harmful biomass plant, and expanding city services for non-English speakers; founding KidsVote in Holyoke, Massachusetts, to boost civic engagement; and completing the Harvard Bloomberg City Leadership Initiative.

He serves on the Assembly Committee on Consumer Protection and Assembly Committee on Local Government.
