Biography

Alonzo L. Knox is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 93 in Orleans Parish, covering parts of New Orleans. He assumed office in March 2023 after winning a special election and is eligible to serve through 2032. An entrepreneur by occupation, Knox serves on committees including Administration of Criminal Justice, Commerce, Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs, House Select Committee on Homeland Security, and Special Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs. He is also a member of the Democratic Caucus, Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, Orleans Delegation, and STEM Innovation Caucus. A notable achievement includes securing $750,000 for repairs to historic buildings in Armstrong Park during a recent legislative session.
