Biography
Allison Hepler is a Democratic state representative serving House District 49 in the Maine House of Representatives, representing the towns of Arrowsic, Georgetown, Phippsburg, West Bath, and Woolwich in Sagadahoc County. A retired history professor from the University of Maine at Farmington, she resides in Woolwich, where she has been active in local organizations including the Woolwich Historical Society, Maine’s First Ship, Woolwich Select Board, and Patten Free Library. She is married to wooden boat-builder Rob Stevens, with no children, and enjoys swimming, canoeing, and hiking.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Ph.D. in history from Temple University in 1996 and a B.A. in journalism.
- Political Experience: First elected to the Maine House in 2016 , reelected in 2020, redistricted to District 49 and elected in 2022, and reelected in 2024; currently in her fourth term . Serves as House Chair of the Marine Resources Committee and member of the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee. Previously served on the Woolwich Select Board.
