Alex Finkelman (0074)

Alex Finkelman is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 74 . He was elected in November 2022 and serves on the House Finance Committee and the House Corporations Committee.

Notable achievements include authoring a 2025 law lifting restrictions on insurance company investments to promote growth in Rhode Island, a 2024 law limiting third-party fees for recovering unclaimed property and increasing transparency in electric and gas billing, and a 2023 law providing a tax break for Jamestown volunteer firefighters.

Education and Political Experience

Finkelman graduated from Providence Country Day School in East Providence and earned a degree in Insurance and Finance from the University of Hartford. His political experience began with his 2022 election to the Rhode Island House, where he has focused on economic and regulatory reforms.
