In 1988, he moved to the metro area and managed several small businesses, including Rio Grand Sales from 1988 to 1990. From 1993 to 2018, he dedicated 25 years to the New Mexico Department of Veterans' Services, advancing from file clerk to benefits director, policy director, legislative director, and retiring as deputy secretary. Post-retirement, he founded a consulting firm aiding veteran-owned businesses with government navigation. Elected in November 2022 to the newly established District 23 seat after redistricting, he continues advocating for veterans and his community.
