About
Alphonse Paolillo, Jr. is a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 97th Assembly District in New Haven. Born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, he graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1990 and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut in 1994. After college, he worked in U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman's office and now serves as a registered representative at John Hancock Financial Network in Rocky Hill, with over 20 years of experience in the field. Paolillo has been active in community organizations and was elected to the New Haven Board of Alders for the 17th Ward in July 2003, serving seven successive two-year terms; he has been Majority Leader since January 2012. Notable positions include Chairman of the Aldermanic Affairs Committee, Vice Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, and membership on committees such as Aldermanic Finance, Tax Abatement, Legislation, City Resources Allocation Subcommittee, and Special Committee on Ward Redistricting.
