Aftyn Alyssa Behn is a Democrat representing Tennessee House District 51 since 2023. Born November 24, 1989, in Knoxville, East Tennessee, she has been a prominent advocate for healthcare access, progressive policies, and rural communities. Notable achievements include passing her first bill in the 113th General Assembly, leading efforts to eliminate Tennessee's grocery tax, announcing legislation on December 2, 2024, to codify the Equal Rights Amendment in the state constitution, and contributing to the federal RECOMPETE Act for rural development. She serves on the Agriculture & Natural Resources, Disaster Relief, Naming & Designating, and Transportation Committees, and was the Democratic nominee in the 2025 special election for Tennessee's 7th Congressional District.
